I am delighted to have been asked to join Stuart Cosgrove, and Tam Cowan, on ‘Off the Ball’ this coming Saturday. It’s an amazing programme, and a show that I have listened to for many years.
As many of you know I am more a shinty supporter than a football fan, so goodness knows what on earth I am going to talk about, however I’m pretty sure the boys will have me cringing, squirming, and laughing, as they do with all their other guests.
The show is on between 12-2pm on BBC Radio Scotland if you manage to tune in.

I am very excited and delighted to be musical director for this year’s Blas festival Lochaber Gold concert.
Lochaber Gold is a unique concert to celebrate and highlight all the incredible musicians and talent that went through Lochaber High School as it celebrates it’s 50th year.
Joined alongside this musical extravaganza will be the RT Hon Charles Kennedy MP, Duncan Shearer, Catherine Macleod, and Donald Park, who all attended the school at various times to talk about their lives.
Hugh Dan Maclennan has the task of extracting all the fun and gory details from our distinguished guests, sandwiched between music composed or written in Lochaber. The Lochaber Pipe Band will also be involved and will open and close the evening with a few surprises in the middle.
This is a one off must see show.

Hope to see you there 🙂
I was over the moon to be awarded Shinty’s Marine Harvest Player of the Year award, alongside the Scottish Hydro Premier Player of the Year award, at this year’s annual shinty awards.
Shinty as many of you know is literally a passion I move heaven and earth to try and make each Saturday when I can, and to receive both these awards in one season is just a dream come true.
Thank you very much to all the clubs and committee’s that voted for myself, I will be sure to buy you a large dram if you make yourself known to me.

Well folks I am delighted to announce that our debut Mà nran album is now available from www.manran.co.uk and various download sites. We are also extremely lucky to have a Worldwide distribution deal with Cadiz to make sure we get to all 4 corners of the globe.
It has been an incredible experience over this past year since the band has been formed and we hope to continue this success for many many years to come, with your support of course.
I hope you enjoy.

STV 5pm 21/1/11
A quick chat with Michelle Mcmanus and Stephen Jardine regarding MÃ nran’s new single “Latha Math” on STV between 5-6pm
Hope you manage to tune in.
I am delighted to say that Mà nran’s single “Latha Math” is now out. You can download the track on itunes and other music down load sites, costing you only 79p. Apart from the fact we want people to buy the song and enjoy it, we are really pushing hard to try and sell 7500 copies in one week to break into the Official UK top 40. If we were to manage this, we would be the first band of the 21st century to get a Gaelic song into the charts. This of course would be just incredible. We have also publicly been backed by Runrig, Julie Fowlis, Red Hot Chilli Pipers and many many more to which we are extremely grateful.
You can get the link to the itunes store by clicking here.

Happy New Year folks, I hope 2011 is as exciting and healthy for you as 2010 was.
With a new year bring new challenges, and this year starts pretty hectic with the release of MÃ nran’s single “Latha Math”. Our aim is to be the first band of the 21st century to get a gaelic song into the UK top 40. Some may say we are peeing into the wind, however we are pulling out all the stops to try and make this ambitious effort successful. The song will be released on itunes and other downloadable sites from January 17th, and fingers crossed by the 23rd we will all be ceilidh stars haha.
We are also very excited to be launching the single on Saturday 16th January in Glasgow’s ABC as part of Celtic Connections. A show not to be missed.
I hope to see you all very soon on the road, in the pub or at a gig, and here’s to a fantastic 2011 ahead.

What a fantastic week we have just had.
At the start of the week MÃ nran recorded our (fingers crossed) hit gaelic single “Lathe Math”. We could not of been in better hands with Calum Malcolm and Phil Cunningham producing, and Stuart Hamilton behind the desk at Castlesound Studio’s. It was incredible to be in such company recording while also being filmed by Beesnees Productions. We hope to launch the single on the 17th January 2011, but we will be bombarding you all with this project in due course.
After staying at Mr Cunningham’s palace on Thursday night, I then joined the Scotland shinty team at Edinburgh airport in preparation for our yearly international in Ireland. Getting the opportunity to lead our countries finest caman swingers out onto Croke Park is up there for me as one of my all time greatest achievements. Unfortunately 8 minutes later and a splattered nose I wasn’t in such good form. However I managed back on and finished the match as Scotland’s top scorer whilst beating the Irish 22-21.
Thank you very much to all the traveling Scottish supporters who chanted and cheered the whole way through the match. It was very much appreciated.
We now look forward to the return leg at the Bught Parks Inverness, on November 13th.
Thanks again and hope to see you all there 🙂
I am delighted to be confirmed by new manager, Drew MacNeil, as this year’s Scotland captain to face the Irish. This coming Friday the Scotland Shinty team fly out to Dublin to face the Irish, in the yearly compromised Shinty/Hurley International, this year held in Croke Park, Dublin.
The Aussie rules/Gaelic football game proceeds our match to a sell out 88,000 screaming fans.
We lost this fixture last year in the fifth minute of injury time which was a huge disappointment, so we will be looking to turn the tables this year.
Will let you know how it all goes.
C’mon SCOTLAND 🙂
A massive thank you to everyone for their support and wonderful messages before and after the Camanachd final. I never for a minute thought it would all finish the way it did, and to score the winner in the last minute is every players dream. Kingussie were obviously disappointed at loosing the final, but as always conducted themselves in a true sporting manner after the match, and all enjoyed a good dram together.
Fingers crossed we continue the current form we are in, and lift the league title for the double.
C’mon the Fort 🙂
Hello hello hello, and welcome to the 3rd revamp of garyinnes.com since 2003. As young as the wee fresh faced boy looked in the old site, unfortunately times moving on wrinkles and all, so thought it was time for a change.
I hope to have more control this time of the site, so the news, gigs, photo’s etc, will be kept up to date more often.
I have to apologise for the lack of updates through out the summer, however I promise to rectify all this, and more, now I can update the site again myself.
Yeehaa.
I would like to thank Bettina and John from Trans World Sport for a great couple of days filming. The show I believe will go out next month sometime and to also 80 other countries Worldwide. T.W.S is the longest serving sports programme in the World and is currently in it’s 23rd year.
Hopefully it will make 24 after the bollocks that I was talking 🙂
The programme gets aired on
Wednesday 3rd March 5pm Sky Sports 4
Thursday 4th March 1am 10am 1pm Sky Sports 3
Friday 5th March 12pm Sky Sports 4
Saturday 6th March 6am Sky Sports 4
